To catch a glimpse of how Dubai royalty lived back in the day, a trip to Sheikh Saeed’s house located in the Al Shindagha area of Dubai is something which you should not miss out on. Sheikh Saeed was ruler of Dubai from 1912-1958 and was a highly thought of ruler at that. He was also the grandfather of the present day ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The house was built in 1896 and is an architectural beauty sure to impress all who set foot inside.
The wonderful items which you will catch a glimpse of while touring this estate include historic photographs, stamp collections, coin collections and historical documents pertaining to Dubai and surrounding regions. When touring the house of Sheikh Saeed you will get to experience how the rulers lived back in the early 1900’s and view the way in which these structures were made. You also have the benefit of looking at historical artifacts which will also provide you with a good glimpse into the past of Dubai.
